my little slice of paradise

ok, I'm a horrible blogger. sorry. I was never good at writing in my diary either. Here is my favorite place on earth - my cottage. I am having fun enjoying the lake and decorating it in the Adirondack style. I've also created a bunk house out of one of the out buildings. Enjoy the photos, hope thye inspire you half as much as they do me.

Inspiration for some projects over the break

I already have copied this idea. I have to take an after shot!
I'm thinking of decoupaging this on a wood block and giving to some of my friends for Christmas.
This is so simple and elegant!

This wreath is made with moss. I have this in abundance around my house. But I'm thinking of a square or rectangular version.

The Cottage

This is my little home away from home. I just love it here. I'm also having a blast decorating it!
I found these vintage skis for $2 at a tag sale. They are perfect!

Laundry Room Makeover

I've been meaning to do this for a while now. My parents raised their washer and dryer to make room for storage underneath. It also makes it so much easier to wash & dry clothes. Sure, I could have bought those bins they sell now that you can place underneath, but I liked this idea so much more. I also built it for free with lumber and materials in my garage (I always have something on hand!) So I finally had a few hours in my busy life to accomplish this project that's been on my to-do list, and I love the results.

making up for lost time

Does this ankle look swollen to you? I've taken up running, and I find I really enjoy it. Seriously. It feels wonderful when you are running at your own pace and it's a cool sunny afternoon. I usually run the trails close to my home. I suffered a small set back about a month ago - I rilled my ankle. It wasn't even while I was running - I was stretching beforehand! Well, it's taken most of the month to get back to normal. And of course, the weather is getting colder and the afternoons are getting darker! But, I'm still really enjoying it.
